Marble Bath overview Extension 4 items #
Paper marbling on a virtual water bath.
The centuries-old art of Ebru and Suminagashi, with its exact mathematics instead of a simulation: every drop and every pull of a comb is one move in the bath's history, and the picture is computed from that history - razor sharp at any export size, with every move undoable.
You marble by hand on the canvas in the middle: click to drop ink, hold to let the drop grow, drag a tool through the water. The classic patterns sit on the left as seeded starting points.
Insert
#Renders the bath at export size and lands it as a re-editable generator layer: reopen it any time and the full history is still there.
Undo last move
#Forgets exactly the newest move - one gesture, however many drops it laid: a whole flower or a whole splatter flick lifts out with one press.
Empty the bath
#Starts over. The button asks by arming once (it turns red); a second press within a moment empties the bath.
Sprinkle drops
#Scatters a seeded handful of small drops in your inks across the bath.
The tools Extension 10 items #
Five ways to touch the water.
Each tool is one gesture on the bath. The pull length of a stroke is its force.
Ink drop
#Click to drop ink; every earlier drop yields and is pushed into rings. Hold to let the drop grow, drag to scatter a trail of drops. Repeated drops on the same spot make the classic bullseye.
Rings
#Drops several alternating-ink drops in one click - the traditional concentric start for flowers and curls.
Needle
#A single stylus line: ink shears along your stroke, decaying with distance. Softness sets how wide the pull reaches.
Comb
#A whole rake of parallel tines at once - the tool behind nonpareil and every feathered pattern. Tooth spacing sets the rhythm.
Wave
#Sways the whole bath sideways along your drag direction - chevrons and bouquets are made of this.
Curl
#Plants a vortex: drag right to wind clockwise, left for the other way. The colors wind around the centre and fade out at the curl radius.
Flower
#Plants a whole Ebru flower - tulip, carnation or daisy - with one click: rings pulled into petals by needle strokes, a leafy stem of chained drops beneath. Drag before releasing to turn the flower and set its size. One move in the history, one undo.
Arc
#A curved needle: ink shears along a circle around the point you pressed, fading away from the arc line. Drag out to the radius; dragging right pulls clockwise.
Ring comb
#A whole comb bent into concentric circles - nonpareil in the round, for medallions. Tooth spacing sets the ring rhythm.
Splatter
#The flick of the brush: a fast drag sprays a fan of tiny droplets along the stroke - the speckled finish of classic sheets. Works with the gall too.
Patterns Extension 7 items #
The classic repertoire as seeded starting points.
Every pattern is built over YOUR current inks and stays fully combable afterwards. The dice re-marble the chosen pattern with a new seed.
Stone
#The uncombed bath: layers of drops pressing each other into organic stones.
Gel-git
#Stones pulled back and forth with a coarse comb - the dramatic flame zigzag every other pattern builds on.
Nonpareil
#Gel-git pulled through a fine comb: the tight, even bows of classic endpaper.
Chevron
#Nonpareil with a crosswise sway of exactly two tooth spacings - neighbouring rows shift against each other into herringbone arrows.
Bouquet
#A wide comb pulled in an S - flowing flame bands that read as petals.
French curls
#A grid of alternating vortices winds the combed bath into curls.
Peacock
#Comb, sway and a gentle counter-comb: the feathered fans of the showpiece pattern.
Inks and water Extension 7 items #
Five wells and the bath itself.
Ink colors are stored as WELL references: recolor a well (or load brand colors) and the finished marbling recolors with it.
Inks
#Five wells; the active one is what the drop tool drops. Click a well to make it active, edit its color with the editor's own picker.
Use brand colors
#Loads your brand kit into the wells - unique marbled art in your own colors instead of stock backgrounds.
Water color
#The bath showing between the inks.
Clear water (transparent)
#The bath becomes transparent: only the marbled veins remain, ready to lie over your design as an overlay.
Gall (clear drop)
#The sixth well drops ox gall instead of ink: it displaces every color exactly like a drop, but what it leaves behind is water - open cells in the pattern, or windows onto your design when the water is clear.
Pigment
#Makes the ink behave like real pigment: a darker rim gathers at every drop's edge and faint clouds drift inside it. Both live in the drop's own pre-image, so they stretch with the combing exactly - which is what real pigment does.
Paper grain
#A faint paper tooth over the finished sheet.
Film Extension 3 items #
The bath in motion, as WebM.
Two motions: the making itself, or the finished picture on gently moving water.
The making, replayed
#Plays the history: drops patter in and bloom, strokes sweep through - the film of how your marbling came to be.
Living water loop
#The finished bath sways on two gentle crossed waves, returning to its start - one seamless loop.
Preview
#Plays the chosen motion once in the studio, without recording.
